Heidi & Mike | Family Session! | Maine Family & Lifestyle Photographer!

This is Heidi and Mike, two AWESOME parents who I got to spend the morning with back in June (of 2011… wow, I am behind with blog posts!). They have three amazing boys who also came along to the shoot, and we basically just spent the morning playing at Willard Beach in South Portland, Maine. How lucky am I? At the time, they lived right down the street from Willard Beach, so it was an obvious choice for their family session location. Their boys were HILARIOUS and so fun to play with, and Heidi and Mike were excellent — the five of them spent the whole shoot laughing, playing, and exploring together. Lucky kids. Enjoy!

Emily & Jesse | Married! 06.18.11 | SMCC Wedding | Maine Wedding Photographer

This is Emily and Jesse! They had a very laid-back and fun wedding day, making sure they were surrounded by their friends and family and people who made them laugh the most. Emily got ready at her parents’ home in South Portland, which definitely added to the low-key feeling of the day, and had her best guy friend as her Man of Honor, which I think is just awesome. They started at the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church (gorgeous both inside and out), where they had a beautiful ceremony and where Emily’s parents’ dog was the “ring bearer” (but mostly just slept in the aisle!). Then we headed to SMCC for their reception, which was hilarious thanks to some of Jesse’s friends. 🙂

Erin & Jim | Married! 06.06.11 | Fort Williams Wedding | Maine Wedding Photographer

This is Erin and Jim! They were actually married in Cancun, so when Jim initially e-mailed me my heart jumped at the idea of possibly getting flown to Mexico for a destination wedding. But, alas… they still had a super gorgeous ceremony here on the coast of Maine. 😉 They knew some of their older relatives wouldn’t be able to make the trip to Cancun, so they were sweet enough to do a private ceremony just for them at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth. It was short and sweet, the weather was perfect, and Jim and Erin are gorgeous enough to be freakin’ MODELS. Thanks for making my life easy, you two.  😀

Katie | Rock the Dress! | Maine Bridal Photographer

This is Katie! A while back we decided to take her wedding dress out for a spin around Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth (she was married on Halloween a few years ago). I loved her dress, but I loved her black and white striped socks even more.  😉

Erin & Gary | Married! 05.01.11 | Scarborough, Maine Wedding | Maine Wedding Photographer

This is Erin and Gary! My father-in-law has known (and worked with) Gary forever, as has my husband, so when they got engaged Erin came to me to talk about their wedding — and I was honored. They’re both very laid-back people, so their wedding followed suit. They had a simple (and gorgeous) ceremony at Pine Point Beach in Scarborough, Maine, and drove right down the street to the Clambake Restaurant for their reception — us in cars, and them in an awesome antique fire truck! Appropriate because Gary is the Deputy Chief and Erin also works for the fire station. So much fun. 🙂 It was awesome to be at a wedding where I knew so many of the guests — both my assistant, Brandon, and I knew a good deal of the people there, including my own mother- and father-in-law. Good times!

Jessica & Adam | Engaged! | Maine Engagement Photographer

This is Jessica and Adam! Jessica was actually my childhood best friend… her and I were INSEPARABLE for many of our pre-highschool years. I spent the night at her house more than I spent at my own house, I was super close with her family and we did everything together. We drifted apart a bit in highschool, both going to different schools in the same town, but when she contacted me about getting engaged to Adam, I was psyched! Once I spent time with him during their engagement shoot, and got to see them interact, it was obvious that Jessica had found the perfect guy for her… as you can see in these photos, they did NOT stop laughing for the entire shoot. 🙂 We spent a few hours exploring around Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth, one of my favorite locations. Jessica and Adam were actually married in August (you’ll see those photos soon) and are now expecting their first baby together!!! You’ll be seeing some maternity photos of Jessica soon, as well as photos of the tiny one after he or she makes an appearance. 😉

Jill’s Jewelry, Modeled by Natasha! | Maine Product Photographer

This is, once again, Jill’s beautiful jewelry… except this time, it’s being modeled by the lovely Natasha! We went to Fort Williams for this shoot, wanting the dramatic rocky coast and the looming clouds in the background. We got all that plus an insanely cold temperature and crazy winds — though the wind helped out, making for some nice windswept hair shots. 🙂 If you’re interested in learning more about Jill’s jewelry, or commissioning her to make a custom piece, get in touch!

2011: A Year In Photos

So I’ve been wanting to do this for a few weeks, and I finally got all of the photos together! This is basically a summary of 2011 for me — mostly weddings, some portraits, and even some personal photos thrown in. I tried to highlight every photoshoot I did by picking my favorite (or, in some cases, a couple of my favorites), so pretty much everyone I worked with is represented here! The photos are also in no particular order — I jumbled ’em all up. 🙂

I also wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you incredible couples, families, and individuals who worked with me in 2011 and continue to put your trust and confidence into me and my work. Many of you have been amazingly supportive and encouraging and it really means the world to me. I’ve been lucky enough to see such unique, love-filled weddings and spend time with some beautiful people, some of whom I still consider close friends. You are all freaking incredible.

To all of the people who helped and supported me in 2011, you’re amazing. My various assistants for the year: Brandon, Kim, Sadie, Jessica, Caitlin, Graham, JJ, Toni, my brother Gray, and my awesome husband Nate. You all helped me with photo gear, ate meals with me, kept me company on long drives, made sure things ran smoothly, kept the party rockin’ by running photo booths, and most of all: helped me keep my sanity. THANK YOU. Thank you, too, to Natasha, who did hair and makeup for many a shoot and did an absolutely GORGEOUS job (and also kept me, and everyone, laughing).

To my friends and family who have been interested in my work, encouraging with my endeavors and challenges, happy when I’ve succeeded, supportive when I’ve stumbled and failed… thank you. Especially to my Mom and Grandma… you two are always on the sidelines cheering me on, and you don’t hesitate to make yourselves heard. I can always count on a comment or a “Like” on Facebook from one (or both) of you. I love you both more than anything in the entire universe.

And most of all, to my husband, Nate — the most incredible person in my life. You’re a constant source of strength, inspiration, and love, and being able to come home at the end of the day and watch Star Trek with you is the best thing in the world. I love you.

Enjoy the photos!!!!!!!!!!!
